Kitchen knives are the most popular in the world. Even if you don't cook at home, you definitely have at least one kitchen knife. And of course if you love to cook at home, you should have at least a few kitchen knives. Choosing of cooking knife is not always easy. We offer a large selection of kitchen knives for professional use and for home use.

There are many types of kitchen knives. They vary in size and purpose. Some of the kitchen knives can be used as universal, as they are suitable for different tasks. Here are the main types of kitchen knives:

- Chef knife. The chef's knife or a cook knife is the main kitchen knife necessary for cooking various dishes. The blade length of a chef knife is usually from 18 to 24 cm. This knife is designed for slicing and chopping. This is a versatile kitchen knife that is necessary in every kitchen. In our store you can buy German chef knives and Japanese gyuto chef's knives.

- Bread knife. The name of this kitchen knife speaks for itself. The wavy blade of this kitchen knife is designed for slicing bread. But try using a bread knife also not only for baking, but also for slicing watermelons, melons and other large products.

- Paring knife. Vegetable knife is essential in every kitchen. Although a chef knife can handle most tasks when cooking, it is inconvenient to peel and cut vegetables and fruits with a large knife. Paring knife with a short straight or peeling knife with curved blade is necessary in every kitchen.

- Slicing knife. The slicer has a length like a chef's knife - from 18 to 24 cm. However, it differs from a chef knife by a narrower blade. Slicing kitchen knife allows you to cut thin slices of the product that do not stick to the blade.

- Boning knife. This knife is designed to separate meat from bone. Its short, convenient blade makes it easy to carve up the carcasses of poultry, chicken or game.

There are many other types of kitchen knives. Most of their names speak for themselves. Fillet knives, utility kitchen knives, kitchen cleavers, cheese knives and others. Most knife manufacturers create a series of kitchen knives that include the most popular models. So, you can choose the necessary kitchen knives from the same series.

Also, if you need several knives at once or you want to upgrade all the knives in your kitchen, buying a kitchen knives set will be an excellent solution. A set of kitchen knives usually includes the most popular and used types of knives. As a rule, this minimum is 2-3 knives: chef's and paring knife or cook's, vegetable and bread knives. When a set of kitchen knives includes more knives, it usually has a special stand included. Large sets of kitchen knives consist of a chef's knife, a bread knife, a vegetable knife, a universal knife and optionally scissors, steak knives and a sharpener.

Our range also includes a wide selection of Japanese kitchen knives. Japanese kitchen knives have their own names, types and purposes. You can learn more about them in the Japanese kitchen knives section.

Most European kitchen knives have a sharpening angle of 20 degrees. To sharpen kitchen knives, you can use whetstones, special sharpening rods or simple roller sharpeners. If the knife is very blunt, it will be difficult to return it to its former sharpness. Therefore, it is recommended to sharpen the knives regularly so that the cutting edge retains its sharpness. If you want your kitchen knife to serve you for many years, you need to sharpen it regularly and store and care for it properly. If the kitchen knife can be washed in the dishwasher, this will be indicated on the original packaging of the product. However, we do not recommend washing high-quality kitchen knives in the dishwasher, because knives become blunt quickly. To keep the blade in good condition for a long time, wash the knives by hand and dry them immediately after washing.

In addition, to prevent kitchen knives from blunting quickly, it is also important to store them properly. To do this, it is recommended to use special knife blocks and stands where each knife is separated from the other. You can also use magnets, which are easy and convenient to hang on the wall. If you prefer to store kitchen knives in a drawer, it is additionally recommended to use special protective covers that will protect the blade.

In our shop you can buy online the best kitchen knives from world famous manufacturers: Zwilling J.A.Henckels, Victorinox, Tojiro, Kasumi, Mcusta Zanmai, Opinel, Nesmuk, Seki Kanetsugu, Kyocera, Tramontina and many others.
